Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE)
2015 - 2016 Tentative Training Schedule

In an effort to assist law enforcement agencies with the ability to effectively plan for training, the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) is providing a tentative calendar of training dates and locations for Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) courses. These dates and locations are tentative and officers are encouraged to periodically check the GTSC website for more complete information as it becomes available. Officers should NOT complete a registration form until the training date and location has been confirmed on the GTSC website. There is no charge to attend a GTSC sponsored ARIDE class. However, travel to and from the class and lunch is the responsibility of the attendees.

Specifics for confirmed courses are listed below.

February - Brentwood (confirmed)
February - Mount Morris (confirmed)

The ARIDE course builds on the Standardized Field Sobriety Test practitioner course. Proficiency of SFST is a requirement. Students will be required to pass an SFST proficiency evaluation on day 1 of this course. Failure to successfully complete the SFTST proficiency evaluation will result in dismissal from the course. Officers are very strongly encouraged to attend an SFST Refresher course prior to attending ARIDE. Officers should contact the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Office of Public Safety for more information on upcoming Refresher courses.

If you have any questions regarding the ARIDE training, please contact the DRE Coordinator via e-mail at Renee.Borden@dmv.ny.gov or by telephone at (518) 486-6718.
