New York State and County Traffic Safety Data Reports for 2010
New York State motor vehicle accident data are compiled by the DMV from the accident reports submitted by police agencies and by motorists. Data are reported by the DMV after one full year has been compiled. Numbers for population and road miles are obtained from other government agencies. Ticket data are presented for the three years 2008-2010. Four summary reports provide accident data for 2008-2010. The four accident reports provide data for 1) all accidents, 2) alcohol-related accidents, 3) speed-related accidents, and 4) motorcycle accidents.
Note for BUNY applicants: - Safety Restraint Data for persons with K & A injuries is provided in Section 4 of each county packet for years 2001-2006. Beginning with the 2007 reports, Safety Restraint Data is provided for all persons killed or injured in Section 1 Table 8P.
